11 Apr Foreclosure Bid-Rigging Case Nets $1.2 Million for Homeowners – BLOOMBERG LAW
Estates LLC, which runs a database of North Carolina properties in foreclosure, was hit with nearly $1.2 million in damages by a federal jury in Greensboro, N.C., which ruled in favor of homeowners who led antitrust litigation over an alleged bid-rigging scheme by the company and its members. The jury returned its verdict April 8 after a five-day trial in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, where a group of property owners brought the lawsuit in 2019. Judge Catherine C. Eagles presided over the case.
The Plaintiffs are represented by Jim White of JC White Law Group PLLC and Dhamian A, Blue of Blue LLP.
