Jim White

James C White helps people and companies facing serious financial injury by bringing and defending lawsuits and representing debtors in bankruptcy.  He has successfully taken on banks, large financial institutions and other corporations in “David v. Goliath” cases. He has been recognized by his peers as one of the top civil litigation lawyers in the state (in Super Lawyers) as well as one of the top business bankruptcy lawyers in the state (in the Legal Elite and Best Lawyers in America).  North Carolina Lawyers Weekly named him a Leader in the Law recognizing him as an influential individual within the state’s legal community.


Jim is a board certified specialist in business bankruptcy law and an experienced litigator.  He serves as a Bankruptcy Trustee in small business cases in the Middle District of North Carolina, and is also a NCDRC Certified Mediator focused on mediating bankruptcy and financial litigation cases.  Before forming JC White Law Group, he was an attorney at one of the state’s largest law firms handling business litigation and bankruptcy


He has appeared on CBS This Morning, WRAL and News 14 Carolinas, and stories about his cases have been featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and CNN and been published in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, The News & Observer, The Triangle Business Journal, and in newspapers and on news web sites across the country.

Shilanka Ware

Shilanka I. Ware worked in the financial securities industry where she assisted both individual and corporate clients with financial and estate planning. Feeling that she could better serve these clients as an attorney, she quit her full-time job and decided to go back to law school.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude both undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and in law school at North Carolina Central University.

 

Shilanka was born in Poughkeepsie, NY and migrated to Hillsborough, North Carolina over 20 years ago.  Her personal philosophy in practicing law is simple — treat people the way you would want to be treated. Her clients are the cornerstone of her practice and the reason she decided to pursue a legal career, as such she makes sure to treat each and every client with the upmost respect and appreciation and focuses on building strong relationships with her clients.

 

She has 3 daughters, who keep her and her husband super busy, with everything from dance to basketball. In her free time, she loves to travel.

Manda King

Manda C. King is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal at J.C. White Law Group.  She attended North Carolina Central University and graduated  with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and is a graduate of UNC’s Paralegal Certificate Program.  Manda is the first contact for most of our bankruptcy clients, although she works on both our bankruptcy and litigation cases.
