Winston-Salem church’s lawsuit should be dismissed, defendants say in filing – WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL

Attorneys for the defendants in a federal lawsuit say that the plaintiffs, a local church and its pastor, cannot legally prove their allegations against them and that a judge should dismiss the case.

James C. White, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, said that his clients weren’t surprised by the defendants’ attorneys asking a judge to dismiss their lawsuit.

“It’s a procedural step that all defendants take in every lawsuit,” White said. “It’s a usual part of the process.”
